Olomouc 2025

From July 21 to 26, 2025, an international training camp followed by a tournament took place in Olomouc, Czech Republic. A total of 85 players from 10 countries took part in the training camp. The training sessions were led by Pavel Řehořek, supported by four young Czech coaches who were working on a development project run by the national table tennis association. The atmosphere was characterized by intensive training, international exchange, and high motivation.

This was immediately followed by the Czech U11/U13/U15/U19 Open international junior tournament, in which 130 players from several countries competed. The OTTV association was represented by five young players: Aidan Amstad, Robin Niederer (Neuhausen), David Fischlewitz, Dhruv Jadrav (TTC Kloten), and Vincent Rabara (YSZ). The level was particularly high in the U19 category, but the Swiss talents still managed to impress with strong performances.

Aidan Amstad had an outstanding tournament in the U15 age group. Together with Loris Ceccoli from San Marino, he won the doubles tournament and secured the gold medal. In the singles, he reached the final and finished in second place. In the team competition, he and his partner also made it to the final, which they narrowly lost – another second place.

Dhruv Jadrav from TTC Kloten also put in an impressive performance. He teamed up with Aronas Zemgulys from Lithuania in the doubles and reached the semi-finals, which was rewarded with third place. He won another bronze medal in the team competition and also made it to the quarter-finals in the singles.

Overall, the Swiss representatives won five podium places and impressively demonstrated that they can compete on equal terms at international level. The combination of training camp and tournament provided a valuable opportunity to gain playing experience, get to know international opponents, and take away new ideas for their own development. The event in Olomouc was a great success for everyone involved, both athletically and personally.
